"Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him."
1 Corinthians 1:26

Noah was called a fool for trusting God, but through him humanity was restored.
Joseph was left for dead by his own brothers, but raised up to prominence in the greatest nation in the then-known world.
Moses couldn't see past his own flaws and deemed himself unworthy, but God saw a great leader in him.
Gideon was found hiding in a wine press when God chose Him to lead His people.
David was a shepherd boy overlooked by his own family, but was later exalted to King of Israel.
Jesus was born in a cattle trough and was raised to life as King of the Universe.
12 uneducated, ignoble men were selected to carry the Good News of the Messiah to the world.

The world may reject you, but they rejected Christ first.
The world may not value you, but you are God's beloved.
You may be overlooked, disregarded, even cast aside. But remember:
"...the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen."

We train faithfully, pressing toward the mark to win the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
